Aven Project
Aven Project, a river, a town, and an American.
The Aven Project, conceived and realized by John K Melvin, was a sponsored project of the Centre International d'Art Contemporain de Pont Aven.
Over the course of nearly two years a talented group of dedicated volunteers helped Melvin realize his vision for the river. The project as installed, consisted physically of 29 translucent panels suspened vertically and mostly perpindicular to 2 kilometer's of river. The town of Pont Aven is a well know tourist destination throughout Europe and abroad. The project was accessible 24/7 to the public was exhibited July 29 to September 3, 2006 and had a companion solo show of Melvin's works on paper in CIAC's main gallery.
